Over a dozen eager beavers turned up for the After School Tutoring program at Economy Hotel, Marietta, on March 28th.
“The kids showed up way before the tutors got there!” said Jamil Foster, General Manager of the hotel.
The program is a free service which runs bi-weekly and is coordinated in partnership with anonymous local business organizations who provide the tutors.
“It’s a great opportunity for the kids to interact with other people outside of a classroom setting where they can relax and make friends,” said Foster.
Since spring break was just around the corner, homework assignments were minimal, which means students had the opportunity to ask about a host of other topics they wanted to learn about.
Foster is actively looking for additional volunteer tutors to join the program and help satiate our students’ appetites for learning. All those willing to offer their time and skills can contact him at 404-457-3196.
